What is Design & why should one choose Design as his/her Career?
Design is the study and practice focused on the interaction between a user and a human made environment. It takes into account aesthetics, functionality, context, culture and societal considerations. A designer always channels their creativity into the betterment of the society, solving problems and in turn making a career out of it by earning. Even though there are plenty of great Designers without a formal degree, the current world demands Designers to have a degree in design (Bachelor of Design – B.Des) & specializations like UI/UX design or Graphic Design or Animation or Game Design etc.

Who is eligible for B.Des programme?
Irrespective of whichever stream you choose in your 12th standard (or equivalent qualifying exam), one can pursue Design. The Eligibility criteria slightly varies for different institutes, however the general eligibility criteria includes two points:
1. Passed or appeared in the qualifying exam (12th or equivalent).
2. Satisfy the age limit criteria.
3. IIT UCEED has a limit of maximum two attempts.
(Admissions criteria varies with respect to institutes.)
